Wake Up in the Morning Feeling Like P. Diddy
4 CommentsThat's how I felt yesterday morning. If P. Diddy was an exhausted 22 year old girl who stayed up way past her bedtime. We had "partied" until 3am. And by partied I mean sat around the living room discussing photography, clients, and all the glorious mistakes we would never want others to know about.
But something was different about this Photographer Get Together. It was the first time in my photography career, no, in my LIFE, that I felt like I belonged. I wasn't the brand new newbie who barely knew what she was talking about. I was now the "not so new" girl who didn't know what she was talking about. (There is a huge difference there!) In all seriousness, I felt like I really belonged. I even got the occasional, "Oh, you're with Faces in Focus - I know you!" Yeah, crazy, I know!
That was an amazing feeling. The thought that in a year, I had grown enough to sit comfortably with the people I had admired for months now, that blew me away. And I don't, by any means, feel like I'm done growing! For goodness sakes, I have a looooooong way to go. But what I've done in only a year tells me one thing - i can SO do this! I'm excited to see where this little business goes, what I can learn, and whose lives I may be able to touch in a small way. 2012 - this is our year!

Getting a tilt shift lens is only the tip of the iceberg of the stuff I want! Lol but seriously, a great night with awesome, talented, and inspiring people, that doesn't come around often!
